SCHOOLS FOR SCHOOLS NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Two of the students from Awere school

Hi Friends,
So I want to inform you of something I’ve been doing for the past 3 weeks. My school has been raising money and awareness for the invisible children in Uganda through a campaign called schools for schools. It’s a campaign where a North American school partners with a Northern Uganda school. The school that Briercrest is partnered with is Awere Secondary school. They have 881 students enrolled and the average student walks 7 miles to school each day.

“For the past 21 years, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and the Ugandan government have been waging a war that has left nearly two million innocent civilians caught in the middle. The Ugandan government has failed to protect its citizens from this rebel militia that has murdered mothers and buried the young, leaving an entire generation of youth that has never known peace.” A few dozen of us Briercrest students committed to wearing the same t-shirt for a month in order to raise awareness of the injustice that has taken place in Uganda in order that we could bless the students at Awere. I have written this post in order to ask you, my friends, to consider donating $5-10 towards this campaign. I have 427 friends on facebook, so if each of you were to donate $10 we would raise $4,270.00. The money that we raise goes directly to the school to supply them with lumber to reconstruct their classrooms, and dining room, that was destroyed in the war; dormitories (so the kids don‘t have to walk 7 miles a day); desks; science supplies; books; library, etc. The dontation process is easy. All you have to do is go to https://s4s.invisiblechildren.com/donate and put in your donating to Briercrest College Fund and then fill out the form and all the money will go to Awere Secondary School. Please consider this seriously. I know I take my education here in Canada for granted and I want us to be able to give the privilege of an education to students who have had it taken away from them and have suffered horrific injustice. Our Briercrest Campaign ends April 10th but make sure you check out their website and get involved. http://www.invisiblechildren.com/
Thanks a lot guys and I pray you will feel blessed by being apart of making a difference in the world.
