September Update

Hello my dear friends,

I am sooo sorry that it has been ages since I last updated you on my blog. I'll try and do my best to efficiently update you on the past month without this being too lengthy.
My last week of work this summer I had the privilege to be one of the 8 staff to take 18 of our youth on a camping trip to Cypress Hills. This was an amazing week of being able to connect with our youth outside of Moose Jaw and watch them take off their masks and just let loose and be themselves. We got to enjoy things like playing beach volleyball, mini golfing, swimming, horseback riding, cooking our meals, hiking, star gazing, playing a wide game, and my favorite sharing and worshiping over the campfire.
God used our campfire times to really speak to our youth about His love and faithfulness, and we saw a lot of walls break down in their lives and their hearts open up more to His love.
This summer I have seen God break down walls in our kids lives, softened their hearts and watch their minds and hearts begin to be transformed. I feel so honoured that God has given me the priviliege to be apart of His work and watch Him soften the hearts of His children this summer. So many of our youth have come so far since the spring and winter and I know God is going to continue to soften their hearts and woe them to Himself.

This fall I am back at school at Briercrest for my final year of studies. It has been a challenge for me to be out here and not working full time with our youth. God has given me a passion to disciple and reach out to these youth and it is hard to not be able to give all of myself to this ministry. However, I do know GOd has seasons for everything and right now I need to finish up my school. I am still involved at Joe's Place two days a week as I am a team leader for the volunteers on Friday nights, a small group leader on Tuesday nights and Friday afternoons my friend Adrienne and I have started up a girls discipleship group.

I am really excited for where God is going to lead us in our Friday afternoon group. Originally it was going to be a group of 6 girls who are fairly new believers. However, 4 of the 6 girls have gotten jobs recently and are no longer able to make it. However there are 3 other girls from Joe's Place who are not believers who really want to be apart of the group. I am really excited for what God has instore for us this fall as I have no idea where He is leading us since the dynamics of our group have now changed. Please keep me in your prayers as I seek God on where He would lead us.

Last night I was reminded of Don Miller's book "Searching For God Knows WHat". In the beginning of the book Don talks about how God can not be kept in a fomula. A lot of times we expect God to work a certain way and for there to be structure in our relationship with God. But God is not One to be kept by a formula or a structure. GOd often moves in ways we do not understand and it doesn't always makes sense. But God's ways are not our ways and we need to let HIm lead us in the direction of where He is going.

Friends, God is moving in our youths lives in a way that is bigger than anything we can comprehend or imagine. It is my prayer that this year God would reveal Himself to our youth, our staff, our volunteers and our supporters in a way that leaves us all in complete awe and wonder of how big and awesome our God is.

Nothing is too big for God and I know He can transform our youth into the image of His Son and continue to refine me to that same image.

I love and miss you all greatly. thanks again for all your love and support. I will do my best to keep you posted more regularly on my life and what God is doing. Have a great week!
