Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, Mirror on the wall-
What will he see when he looks at me?

Mirror, Mirror on the wall-
Is he the Superman,
I've been waiting for?
Will he be the one
To see past these walls of insecurity?

Mirror, Mirror on the wall

Do you speak words of truth?
Or are they all just foul lies?
Some days you scream at me
words of disgust, unworthiness and hate.

But then there are other days
When the sun beams through that open bathroom window

And I see a glimpse in the reflection
that whisper words
of beauty, perfection and purity.

Oh God, my Father-
Why must I so often trust the mirror of this world
to reflect the image of my worth?

Oh God, my Father-
Please help me to see that the reflection of my beauty
Comes from the very depths of my heart.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall
Will you one day see the beauty of a girl
Whose heart is not fleeting,
Like the flowers of this imperfect world.
